Lead a high performing team that is making a big impact on People Development (PeopleDev) and Google through strategic resource management. The core services of the team are high quality and the team is a leader in the resource space across Google. As the Lead of PeopleDev’s Resource Management team, you will be responsible for determining the strategic direction and driving the operational rigor for PeopleDev’s resourcing decisions. You'll lead the team responsible for ensuring that PeopleDev’s Leadership has the information they need to effectively run our business and align spending with strategic priorities.
In this role, you will partner closely with the Finance team and our dedicated staffing partners, as well as Legal and Supplier Sourcing to proactively identify opportunities for PeopleDev to optimize our spend, vendor, and people investments.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 8 years of relevant work experience in consulting, operations, vendor strategy and/or contracts management, negotiations, or procurement.
* 3 years of experience in people management.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Background in consulting with a track record of delivery and driving results in process and/or operational environment (e.g., Learning and Development function/team, or potentially within a non-technical organization).
* Ability to think strategically about complex issues and convert to straightforward, timely action and thrive in a fluid and collaborative environment.
* Effective negotiation skills, courteous persistence, and the ability to influence others.
* Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
* Determine the strategic direction and drive the operational rigor for the People Development Resource team, including headcount, budget, and vendor engagements, etc.
* Maintain a view of People Development's spending to ensure it aligns with the budget and priorities identified in annual business planning. Advise the leadership team on opportunities to optimize spend and vendor investments.
* Track/analyze staffing and headcount data in order to support decision-making, and partner with the leadership team to align headcount with People Development priorities.
* Develop relationships, influence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and adjust existing or implement new processes as needed.
* Serve as a member of Strategy, Design and Operations' leadership team and contribute to overall strategy and planning for People Development.
